There was a time when I wouldn’t be able to tell you about the best audiobooks to help you make more money. But it’s not because I didn’t read about making more money. It’s because until recently, I never listened to an audiobook. What? I know, so embarrassing.
As an author and someone who reads books like she’s being paid to turn the page, I’m sure you’d assume that audiobooks were a regular part of my consumption line-up, but you’d be wrong. They weren’t my thing. But the really embarrassing thing about audiobooks not being my thing was that I never tried listening to them. I just assumed I wouldn’t like them, so I never bothered.
That is until I started thinking about ways to make more money and wanted to expand my capacity to make more money. Then, audiobooks became my very best friend, much to the dismay of my very best friend. So I want to share with you some of the best audiobooks to help you make more money. You can, of course, read the physical book if you like, but there’s a reason I’m recommending audiobooks to make more money, so stick around for that.

Chill and Prosper by Denise Duffield-Thomas
This book is like a warm blanket wrapped around your business brain. Denise walks you through how to let go of hustle culture and make money in a way that feels light, easy, and aligned. It was the first audiobook I listened to (ever) and it was such an immersive experience because Denise reads it herself, and you can hear the exact tone she means when she says “you’re allowed to make it easy.” It’s both soothing and empowering, and that mix is magic in your ears.
You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero
This book is a classic for a reason and anyone who knows me knows I’ve got several physical copies of this book. It never occured to me to listen to the audiobook. But while I was working to develop my capacity to make more money, listening to one of my favourite business coaches sing her Badass song was so helpful. The book is equal parts no-nonsense kick-in-the-pants and loving pep talk. The author is energetic and a little irreverent, which makes the listening experience feel like having a coffee with your wildly successful best friend who’s not afraid to tell you when you’re getting in your own way. You can’t help but start believing in yourself after a few chapters.
The Witch’s Way to Wealth by Jessie DaSilva
This one blends the practical with the mystical, and Jessie’s narration makes it feel deeply personal, like she’s letting you in on the real secrets behind success. While I always passed on this one because of the title, I opted to go for it because of the reviews. She speaks directly to intuitive and creative entrepreneurs who want to do things their own way, and as an audiobook, it feels like a private coaching session. It’s especially good if you’re a little “woo” and a little “strategy.”
We Should All Be Millionaires by Rachel Rodgers
This book had me pacing the house like I was about to go make a million dollars right now. Rachel is bold and unapologetic about women earning serious money, and the audiobook version carries so much fire. Listening to her outline the systemic issues, personal mindset traps, and step-by-step strategies to build wealth felt like being in a mastermind group I didn’t know I needed.
Rewire for Wealth by Barbara Hudson
This one is a slower burn but worth it. Barbara brings her years of experience in financial education and combines it with neuroscience and personal growth. The tone is steady and grounding, and the audiobook makes it easier to absorb the more complex ideas about brain science and money patterns. I found myself pausing often to reflect and then hitting play again because I wanted to keep going.
We Need Your Art by Amie McNee
This is a love letter to creative people who struggle to believe that their work matters. Amie’s narration is gentle and affirming, and her message is clear: your art is valuable, and it deserves to be seen and supported. I listened to this while I painted my first three pieces in The Unscaled Collection and felt seen in a way I didn’t expect. It’s less about money directly and more about worthiness, which is often the first step to opening yourself up to receiving more of what you want in life.
The Best Audiobooks to Help You Make More Money
I started this article by saying I never listened audiobooks, but the truth is that I never gave them a fair chance. I assumed, like many people do about many things in life, that I wouldn’t like them. So I just never tried them. I held on to the belief that “reading” came in only one form and after reading hundreds of books, it didn’t seem like it was worth it to try to switch.
A part of me believed that “listening” wasn’t the same as reading, but then I challenged that thought from an education perspective. As an adult educator who worked to create learning opportunities, training, and growth pathways for organizations for over 25 years (eek! Am I that old?!), I started thinking about audiobooks as a tool. And as soon as I listened to my first one, I turned it off. I didn’t like it. It wasn’t the narrator’s fault though. It was the book. So I switched books immediately and tried again: like any good entrepreneur would do.
Finding My Way to the Best Audiobooks to Help You Make More Money
I realized very quickly (once I found a book I was interested in listening to) that having someone in your ear giving you advice, giving you the steps, helping you wrangle the mindset and cheer you on as you went out into the world to make money felt way more exciting than sitting and reading a book about making money. It felt more active to me.
I’ve read plenty of books about making money over the years, but it wasn’t until I started listening to books about making money that many things shifted in my mindset. And it makes sense that would be true for me because I’m more likely to respond to something I hear than read. Audio evokes an emotional reaction in me, at least when it comes to business. I’m more likely to get emotional at a conference hearing someone talk about their entrepreneurial journey than I am reading about it.
Reading for Pleasure and Reading to Learn
Of course reading about other things, such as heartache, romance, and sadness makes me cry every time. But we’re not talking about that right now. We’re talking about happens to our brains when we listen with the intention of learning, not just consuming. And I laugh when I think about how much sooner I should have started listening to audiobooks, given my background in education, not to mention my desire to make more money as a business owner.
When I finish listening to an audiobook, I feel as though my brain has changed. It starts firing in a different way than it did before, or different from the way it does when I read a paperback. I seem more alert and ready to apply the information and of course, because I’ve “heard” the advice, I look for ways to start implementing it, if only in my mind.
If you’ve been making assumptions about what could help you make more money, I urge you to reconsider. I feel foolish for ignoring audiobooks for as long as I did, especially since I started listening to them I’ve made more money than ever before. Go find out what new tools and resources can help you do more of in your life. Try something new today! You never know where it might lead.
