How Long Does it Take to Create an Online Course?

Our proven course creation process allows us to create a complete learning and development solution for you and your learners in a little as 6 weeks. Depending on the size of the program you want to build, you can expect to work with Heather Deveaux Instructional Design up to 12 weeks on a project. This timeline includes research, curriculum development, edits, and building your learning management system.

We recommend keeping learning and development projects short: no more than 12 weeks in duration. People are busy and while professional development and up-skilling is important at work, it’s difficult for people to find time to complete online training programs. Plus, we know that sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time is hard on the head. That’s why we design action-biased learning programs that incorporate doing and not just watching. Learning happens when we do new things. That’s how humans make meaning of new experiences: we learn from the act of taking action.
